How the course works
Over five weekly sessions you explore the foundations of mindfulness step by step: attention to the body, the breath, thoughts and emotions, mindful listening, and bringing the practice into daily life.
Each session combines guided meditation, short explanations and exchange in a small group. After every session you receive an extensive written summary and the audio recordings of the meditations, so you can practise at home.
No special equipment is needed: a stable internet connection and a quiet place are enough.
The five sessions
Session 1
Understanding mindfulness meditation
Meditating is not about stopping thoughts, but meeting present experience with more attention.
Session 2
The body as an anchor in the present
The body becomes a point of support to return to the present when attention scatters.
Session 3
Befriending thoughts and emotions
Recognising what is happening inside, without trying to control it straight away.
Session 4
Mindful relationships
Mindfulness as a way of being present with others, not only in formal practice.
Session 5
Mindfulness in daily life
Carrying the momentum forward and supporting a more independent practice.

Questions people ask
I have never meditated. Is this for me?
Yes. This course is designed for beginners, and also for people who have done MBSR and want to return to the basics or bring regularity back into their practice.
What will I take away?
Simple tools to meditate every day, a calmer way of responding to life’s challenges, and ways to bring mindfulness into work, relationships and rest.
How much should I practise between sessions?
As much as you can, without any obligation. After each session you receive the audio recording of every meditation and a full written summary, so you can practise at your own pace.
What do I need technically?
A computer or tablet with a camera, a stable internet connection and the free Zoom application, and a quiet place where you will not be interrupted.
Can I go on to MBSR afterwards?
Yes. Discover Meditation is a good preparation for the full eight-week MBSR program.
